Evaluate:
- Optical calibration and performance
- Mechanical Assemblies
- Imaging system
- Illuminator
Service / Repair
- Optical and Mechanical Adjustments as needed.
- Lubrication as needed
- Clean scope and optics
Calibrate and Validate
- Align Kohler, Fluorescence, Phase, Dark Field, Hoffman.
- Ensure Imaging device and scope are parfocal and parcentric
- VALIDATE THAT MICROSCOPE SETUP IS CORRECT.
Routine P.M. service for basic bright field microscope includes;
Set IPD = 65,
Note areas suggesting a need for mechanical and/or optical maintenance by operating microscope to bring standard alignment target into focus.
Confirm all binocular alignment specifications are below 0.02mm displacement.
Remove revolving nosepiece, stage and condenser and clean all parts with isopropyl alcohol and all exposed optics with Electrowash.
Mount removed components to the microscope frame.
Return IPD to 65 and prepare for inspection and Kohler alignment.
Bring test specimen into focus and align condenser (Kohler).
